History

Baytown Kennel Club was formed more than 50 years ago as a place for dog lovers of all kinds to gather together in support of their love for dogs and dog exhibitions. We are a non-profit which supports dog events in the Baytown, Texas area.

Today, Baytown KC holds a number of events including one annual AKC Conformation and Obedience Show, as well as several Agility Trials, throughout the year. In addition, our members compete in nearly every dog sport there is - from Dock Diving to Scent Work, from Therapy to Coursing (racing), and everything in between.

We welcome all kinds of dogs and dog lovers. Our members include owners of adopted pet dogs to professional purebred handlers and judges, from people who never breed to responsible AKC Breeders of Merit.

We sponsor an annual scholarship for veterinary students at Texas A&M University to help more veterinarians be aware and active in preserving dog sports and purebred dogs. The proceeds of the raffle at our annual show are devoted to the scholarship fund.
